The CC4RG group met on Nov 16 to discuss the future of the organization, now that Lineage Logistics has withdrawn plans to construct a cold storage facility at New Century.

Here is a summary of the meeting discussion:

Preliminary Meeting
Concerned Citizens 4 Responsible Government
Thursday, November 16, 2017
Olathe City Hall

Daniel Hellweg together with Mike Jensen sent out an email to a number of interested parties in continuing to be informed of future county projects in that Lineage has pulled out of the area to build their ammonia plant.  The meeting opened with Mike Jensen and Daniel Hellweg stating that numerous parties wanted to be involved in  a “public watchdog” informative group consisting of a transparent group of concerned citizens and although all of Johnson County would be considered, we would mainly concentrate our efforts in this area of the county, but would be open to helping other parties in the county.

After many opinions and statements were brought up, it was decided we would go the route of a 501  (c) (4) for the time being.  A mission statement will be addressed in the future and concerned citizens were asked to think about it for the next meeting on January 11, 2018, City Hall, 3:00 p.m.

Officers were cited as follows:  Mike Jensen President, Vice President, Bill Bonie, Secretary, Jeannie Rolf, Treasurer, Mary Lathem,  and Executive Director, Daniel Hellweg.

It was further discussed that this would be a county wide organization regarding all the issues.  It was stated that November 20 would be another court date and the Airport Committee would be meeting again on December 6, 2017.

It was stated that we planned to keep the meetings to one hour in hopes of getting as many concerned citizens to attend as possible.
