About CC4RG

Our Story

In 2017, a group of Johnson County, KS residents formed Concerned Citizens 4 Responsible Government while facing the potential of a new cold storage facility (Lineage Logistics) entering their residential neighborhood. This facility would have housed dangerous chemicals, notably anhydrous ammonia, which has been associated with accidents, serious illness, and death many times before. Our county commissioners approved this facility without ensuring a safe buffer zone or evacuation policies.

CC4RG mobilized hundreds of local residents, raising awareness of the danger and pressuring county officials to reevaluate. In the end, Lineage Logistics withdrew its proposal for a facility in Gardner.

Rather than disbanding after one success, volunteer-run CC4RG decided to continue fighting on behalf of Johnson County citizens. Operating as a 501(c)4 non-profit, CC4RG is focusing primarily on county issues and making sure residents’ voices are heard in local government.

Most recently, CC4RG is shining the light on the insidious problem of sex trafficking that hides in plain view within our community. As a team, we’re working alongside law enforcement and other anti-trafficking organizations to raise awareness, support victims, and bring perpetrators to justice.
